My Biggest Secret to Feeling Comfortable During Your Session

Let's face it, unless you are Tyra Banks, being in front of a camera can be a scary thing! I am 100% guilty of being nervous in front of a camera lens, but want to know what I think the biggest secret to feeling comfortable in front of a camera lens is? Trusting your photographer!

It’s totally okay to feel nervous! As photographers, we do not expect our clients to be models, even though you totally end up looking like one ;) My job is to direct you in a way that helps you relax, feel natural, and be your true comfortable selves in front of my lens. Will I make you do silly prompts? Totally. Will I be a total goofball myself? 100%! Will you have a blast during your session and forget I even have a camera? That's the goal! By the end of our time together, it is my wish that you feel like Tyra Banks and wonder when your big break in modeling will come! If you allow yourself to trust me, I can guarantee the end result is something you will love!

Take these cuties for example. When I was over in Seattle earlier this spring, Theresa + Connor and I had a fun, quick photo adventure downtown. These two completely trusted in my process and gave me their all. From all the snuggling, to silly piggyback prompts, to goofy jokes I made them tell each other, we were able to fully capture the essence of their joyful love because not once did they question what I was doing. They understood that through it all, we were going to get some real, amazing emotion! So if you're on the hunt for a photographer to capture a special time in your life, or some magical moments of your everyday, find a photographer you can trust and allow yourself to commit to their workflow and I promise magic will happen!
